Jailton Almeida entered the professional circuit as a mixed martial artist by making his debut on September 19, 2012, and successfully defeating his inaugural opponent, Diego Reis, by a first-round submission. After a successful outing, he racked up four consecutive victories in his favor before suffering the first professional loss of his career against Tyago Moreira on August 5, 2017, at Katana Fight 3. He lost another fight to Bruno Assis on January 28, 2018, just after winning a fight after his first defeat.


Jailton Almeida made his promotional debut in the UFC on February 5, 2022, against Danilo Marques after winning a UFC contract by defeating Nasrudin Nasrudinov at Dana White’s Contender Series 39 on September 14, 2021. He has been a regular competitor in the promotion since his debut.
