Jared "Killa Gorilla" Cannonier is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the middleweight division (185 lbs) of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Born in Dallas, Texas, on March 16, 1984, Cannonier has had a very interesting career in MMA. He debuted as a heavyweight in the UFC back in 2015, then moved down to a light heavyweight, and finally settled at middleweight, the division he found the most success in. Before becoming an MMA athlete, Cannonier served in the US Army and later as an air traffic controller in Alaska. Cannonier has notable wins against Jack Hermansson, Kelvin Gastelum, and former champion Sean Strickland. His relentless style of fighting paid off with a number of Performance of the Night bonuses.

At the start of 2022, Cannonier entered a title fight for the UFC Middleweight Championship with the defending champion, Israel Adesanya, at UFC 276, and was defeated by unanimous decision. In June 2023, Cannonier won the all-time highest cumulative number of significant strikes landed in a UFC middleweight bout while defeating Marvin Vettori. As of February 2025, he is ranked No.7 in the middleweight division with a record of 17 wins and 8 losses (17-8-0).
