Jose Aldo is a legendary Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and a boxer who is known for his days at the WEC and the UFC, where he reigned as the featherweight champion as a mixed martial artist. An experienced fighter with 40 fights on his resume, Aldo fought at multiple fight promotions before becoming a part of World Extreme Cage Fighting, which was merged with the UFC in 2010. Aldo was the featherweight champion of the WEC at the time of the merger and as he was transferred to the UFC, the promotion crowned him as the inaugural featherweight champion in the promotion.

The fight went through five rounds and Aldo was able to overcome Faber by outclassing him with a unanimous decision victory. Jose Aldo squared off against Conor McGregor on December 12, 2015, at UFC 194 in a featherweight title showdown. The fight is infamously remembered as one of the quickest knockouts in professional mixed martial arts, as McGregor defeated Aldo in 13 seconds of the first round.
