Josh Warrington is an English professional boxer who was born on November 14, 1990 in Leeds, United Kingdom. He has held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight championship twice between 2018 and 2022. On May 19, 2018 Warrington faced Lee Selby at Ellen Road, Leeds, England. He defeated Selby via split decision to win the fight. Warrington gave up his title after he expressed his unwillingness to defend his championship to his mandatory challenger, Kid Galahad.

On March 26, 2022 Josh Warrington squared off against Kilo Martinez at First Direct Arena, Leeds, England. He won the fight via seventh round knockout and won the international Boxing Federation title for the second time. His second stint as the world champion ended when he lost the title against Luis Alberto Lopez on December 10, 2022 via majority decision at First Direct Arena, Leeds, England.

His historic win over Lee Selby made him the first male boxer from Leeds to win a major world title. He is ranked as the world’s fourth-best active featherweight by The Ring, seventh by BoxRec and fifth by Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.
