Russian professional mixed martial artist Magomed Alibulatovich Ankalaev was born on June 2, 1992, and he is presently a competitor in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight class. Ankalaev defeated Rustam Malaev of Kazakhstan in the championship match of the World Mixed Martial Arts Association (WMMAA) World Cup held in Baku, Azerbaijan, in December 2013. Ankalaev was awarded the gold medal.

Ankalaev qualified for the WMMAA Championship in September 2014 after defeating Valentin Moldavsky in the semi-final and Vadim Nemkov in the final of the Russian MMA Championship in June 2014. Fedor Emelianenko's students were the opponents of Ankalaev in both matches. He proceeded to take home the silver medal.
