Super flyweight, or junior bantamweight, is a weight division in professional boxing that features fights between 112 and 115 pounds (51 and 52 kilograms). The New York Walker Law is credited with creating Super Flyweight, along with many of the other divisions, in 1920.

History of the Super Flyweight Class in Pro Boxing

Until 1980, there were no records of any titles being held in this division. The division was reinstituted by the WBC in 1980 under the name super flyweight. After defeating Seung-Hoon Lee in a 15-round split decision, Rafael Orono would become the first champion of the modern incarnation of the title.

The belt was introduced by the WBA in 1981, the IBF two years later, and the WBO in 1989. Khaosai Galaxy, a Thai boxer who has made 19 title defenses, has the record for the longest title reign.

Super flyweight champions who made history include Ellyas Pical, Gilberto Roman, Jiro Watanabe, Mark Johnson, Johnny Tapia, Danny Romero, Khaosai Galaxy, Fernando Montiel, and Roman Gonzalez.
