TJ ‘The Power’ Doheny is a professional boxer from Portlaoise, Ireland. He was born on November 2, 1986, and is one of the most experienced professional boxers in the super-bantamweight division. Doheny made a relatively late professional debut at 25 in April 2012. He quickly gained momentum in his pro career, winning 20 consecutive fights, with 14 by stoppage. The Irishman’s milestone win came on August 16, 2018, when he won the IBF super-bantamweight title with a win over Ryosuke Iwasa in Japan. He defended the title once, in a win over Ryohei Takahashi, before losing it in a unification bout against Daniel Roman in April 2019.

Over the years, Doheny has fought the likes of Michael Conlan and Sam Goodman, showing grit and skill. He has recently experienced a career resurgence, particularly in Japan, where he is highly respected by the local boxing fans. In May 2024, he scored his 20th stoppage against Bryl Bayogos, firmly establishing himself again as a top contender in the super-bantamweight class.
