He won by a first-round TKO and kicked off his professional career with flying colors. On February 4, 2017, Volkan Oezdemir was welcomed to the octagon by Ovince Saint Preux in his debut at the UFC. Oezdemir got over the line by securing a split-decision win over Preux. In 2018, he faced Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship but couldn’t seize the opportunity to win the title as Cormier defeated him by second-round TKO. Oezdemir is currently ranked No. 9 in UFC’s light heavyweight division and has a professional mixed martial arts record of 19 wins and 7 losses.
