American mixed martial artist Nathan Donald Diaz was born on April 16, 1985, and is currently unsigned. Diaz is best known for his time spent competing in the UFC, though he competed in World Extreme Cagefighting, Strikeforce, and Pancrase prior to joining the UFC. Diaz, with a total of 16, holds the third-highest number of UFC bonus awards.

The Diaz brothers, Nick and Nate, support legalizing marijuana, and California Finest even manufactures a line of pre-rolls under license. They established a CBD business called Game Up Nutrition and currently manage Nick Diaz Academy, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu school in Stockton, California.

Since he was 18, he has primarily followed a vegan diet, but he does occasionally eat fish. In August 2022, Diaz openly supported BJ Penn, a fellow UFC veteran running for governor of Hawaii. The launch of Diaz's own combat sports promotion business, Real Fight Inc., was announced in September 2022.

The mayor of Stockton gave Diaz a key to the city during a Stockton Kings basketball game in December 2022 as a result of the attention that Diaz had brought to the city.

Nate Diaz retired from MMA in 2022 and stepped inside the boxing ring against Jake Paul for his professional debut. Diaz lost to Paul via a unanimous decision and is now gearing up to face his former UFC opponent Jorge Masvidal inside the ring. The professional boxing matchup will take place on July 6, 2024, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, United States.
