Nate Diaz

The UFC veteran and MMA legend who fights out of Stockholm, Nate Diaz is undoubtedly one of the most popular combat sports superstars on the planet. Like most UFC fighters, Nate Diaz also has had his ticket into the promotion via The Ultimate Fighter, in fact winning the season by finishing all his opponents. With more than two decades of expertise in the sport, Diaz retired with a record of 21 wins and 13 losses in mixed martial arts. The majority of his wins were via submission(12), and knockout(5), respectively. Moreover, Nate Diaz has fought in two weight classes (lightweight, and welterweight), inside the octagon so far.

One of the most important fights in Nate Diaz’s career has been his first matchup with Conor McGregor at UFC 196 on March 6, 2016. It was McGregor’s welterweight debut and Diaz’s return to the weight class after competing in the lightweight division for a few years. UFC 196 still remains one of the biggest events in the history of the promotion. The bout lasted for two rounds, and Diaz stopped McGregor at 4:12 also disrupting the Irish fighter’s 15-fight win streak back then. However, they locked horns again in a rematch at UFC 202, which again turned out to be another huge event in the history of the sport. For which McGregor had a majority decision win against the Stockholm legend.

However, after retiring from mixed martial arts, Nate Diaz made his professional boxing debut last year against the Youtuber turned boxer, Jake Paul. The fight took place on August 5, 2023, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, United States. And Nate Diaz suffered a unanimous decision loss to Paul after the ten-rounder. Whatsoever, Diaz has had such an entertaining and dramatic career in MMA, and hence, his persona does not revolve around his wins or losses anymore. He is currently gearing up for his second boxing outing and this time against the former UFC BMF champion, Jorge Masvidal on July 6, 2024.
