Appearance

Barraskewda is dominantly brown in color and is based on a barracuda fish. On either side is a large green patch with four arrow shaped white patterns connected to each other resembling the bones of a fish. All of its fins are orange and the rest of the body is brown. It has a long jaw going outward like a spear making it look like it is always smiling. There are a total of four teeth sticking out from its lower law, two each on both sides. Its eyes are right above its mouth and are entirely round.

Behavior

Barraskewda’s jaw is as strong as steel and as sharp as a spear. They are very proud of these jaws and won't be shy to charge at enemies with it. It charges using its fins; like a motorboat, it rotates its fins to propel itself forward and then rams into enemies. If you happen to find a barraskewda, don't be shy to eat it since it is said that the flesh is ‘surprisingly tasty’.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Since Barraskewda is a pure water type, its strengths and weaknesses are pretty standard. It is resistant to fire, water, ice and steel type moves but is weak to grass and electric types. It has no immunities and all other types normally damage this Pokemon.

Best moveset

Barraskewda has a high Speed and Attack stats but it lacks in Defense and Special defense stats, making it yet another glass cannon pokemon. Flip Turn is the key unreplaceable move for Barraskewda as that lets it switch out after dealing damage. This is extremely helpful after the stats are lowered after using Close Combat while Psychic fangs are extremely helpful as it not only deals incredible damage, but also breaks screens.

Finally, Drill Run can come in handy if they bring out an Electric type Pokemon to counter Barraskewda. It also has a high critical hit ratio, which makes it even more powerful. The downside of this moveset is that there is only one STAB move and it forces you to switch out. If you want more STAB moves, you may replace any move apart from Flip Turn with Liquidation, Waterfall or Aqua Jet.
