All About Diglett Pokémon

Last Modified Jun 14, 2021 07:55 GMT

Diglett debuted in Generation I as a Ground-type Pokémon. At level 26, it evolves into Dugtrio. Diglett has a regional version in Alola that is both Ground and Steel-types, and which evolves into Alolan Dugtrio at level 26. Diglett has either the Sand Veil ability or Arena Trap. Sand Veil increases Diglett's ability to avoid fighting and escape during a Sandstorm. In contrast, Arena Trap prevents other Pokémon from escaping the battle with Diglett.

On the other hand, Alolan Diglett possesses the Tangling Hair Ability with which opponents that hit Alolan Diglett with a move that makes direct contact will have their Speed lowered by a stage. Last but not the least, Digletts are proficient diggers and can dig quickly.

Appearance of Diglett

Diglett is a little brown Pokémon with just its head showing as if it is always buried beneath the dirt. It is the lightest and shortest Ground-type due to its small height. It has huge, round, pink eyes, a beady black snout, and relatively thin skin.

Appearance of Diglett

Behavior of Diglett

It spends a considerable amount of time underground because Diglett's blood will heat up and cause him to become weak if he is exposed to sunshine. Diglett eats tree roots and vegetables in tunnels and caverns underneath the earth's surface. It has also been observed living in tree holes near woods. Diglett excavates the dirt at a short depth regularly, leaving neatly tilled soil behind.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Since Diglett is a ground-type Pokémon, which means it’s the strongest against Electric-type Pokemon such that it takes no damage from then. Then comes Poison, Fire, and Rock-type Pokemon taking only half the normal damage from them. However, Diglett is weak against Water, Grass, and Ice Pokemon taking twice the normal damage from them.

Shiny Diglett

Shiny Diglett looks the same as a regular Diglett except that it has a blue nose instead of a pink nose. The same goes for Alolan Diglett. Shiny Diglett has a blue nose instead of a pink one, but it appears exactly like a regular Diglett. In Pokemon Go, you can catch a Shiny Diglett by participating in 1-star raids, since that is currently the best way to get a Shiny Diglett.

Players can participate in this 1-star raid by looking at the map and using a Remote or regular Raid Pass. Because it's such a low level, players should be able to finish them on their own and if they don't discover a shiny at the end of the battle, they'll have to attempt again in a different raid combat site. There's no guarantee that a Shiny Alolan Diglett will show up, but it's the best method to get one right now.

Alolan Diglett

Alolan Diglett has three bright gold whiskers on its head as a result of living in high-iron soil. These whiskers serve as sensors, allowing it to monitor its surroundings without having to come above ground, but the Alolan Diglett may periodically stick its head out to do so. Its whiskers may also be utilized to communicate, with the whiskers bouncing about to convey mood or emotion. For anger, they stand straight up, swing around for happiness, and droop for sadness. Alolan Diglett is significantly stronger than non-Alolan Diglett since it must be able to dig through Alola's volcanic rock. They are, however, still rather little, sharing the title of shortest Steel-type with Klefki and Meltan.

Best Moveset for Diglett

Starting with Mud-Slap, which is a Ground-type move introduced in Generation II and is where Diglett hurls mud in the target's face to inflict damage and lowering the target's accuracy stat by one stage. On the turn that Dig is selected, the user will dig underground and become semi-invulnerable. In the following turn, Dig will do damage, PP will be deducted from it, and it will count as the last move used.

Once Dig is selected, the user will not be able to switch out until it is disrupted or fully executed. While Earthquake allows Diglett to set off an earthquake that strikes every Pokémon around it. Earth Power allows Diglett to make the ground under the target erupt with power with a chance to lower the target's Sp. Def stat.
