FAQs

What is Gastly made of?

Gastly is made mostly of gaseous materials, and that helps it be one of the lightest Pokemon. However, when a strong wind comes along, its body quickly dwindles away. They like to avoid any kind of wind.

What shape is Gastly?

While it typically looks like a black circle, it actually has no shape. Since it is gaseous it can take the shape of things easily and can move and phase through things at will.

When should I evolve Gastly?

It evolves at level 25, but it learns a good move at level 40. Gastly learns Shadow Ball a little bit quicker than its evolved counterpart Haunter. Haunter learns it at 48, so it only makes a small difference when you evolve Gastly.

Is Gastly a good Pokemon?

Yes, it has some really good moves available to it. Its fully evolved form, Gengar, has been considered a top tier Pokemon since its debut in Pokemon Red and Blue (the first game). These are very good Pokemon.

Is Gengar a dead Pokemon?

Since it is a Ghost type Pokemon, the Gastly/Haunter/Gengar Pokemon can be considered dead. It has been considered the ghost of a dead Clefable, but that’s just a legend.

Conclusion

Gastly is a great Pokemon. It seems malicious, but is truly playful in nature. It has some extremely powerful moves, so finding one can be a huge boost to a team. Gastly and its evolutionary family are a rare type combo, so finding them and evolving them is a great goal to have.
