It is a member of the Forces of Nature, along with Tornadus and Thundurus, and serves as the trio's master.

Appearance:

Incarnate Forme:

Landorus is an orange, strong humanoid Pokémon resembling a genie in its Incarnate Forme. Three pointed, pink horns are placed in a small upwards arch on its forehead. On top of its head, Landorus has white hair fashioned like a small log, a jagged white mustache, and two-pointed orange ears on either side. It has golden eyes with irises that are beady white and no apparent pupils. Landorus' front body is coated in dark pink dots, the majority of which are shaped like diamonds, pebbles, and raindrops.

It has a wide chest with two connected, dark pink diamond-shaped pectorals, and raindrop-like patterns on its shoulders, elbows, and navel. It has two strong arms with speckled skin and five fingers on each hand. It has a trailing cloud with a long, curling brown branch or root-like tail on its bottom body. Landorus' tail has a series of flat protrusions that run the length of it, each with a dark pink edge.

Therian Forme:

Landorus is an orange, slender, quadrupedal Pokémon with feline characteristics in its Therian Forme. The horns on its head have shrunk in size and are now positioned in a descending arc. Landorus has dark pink striped back and lower legs, as well as dark pink upside-down raindrop patterns on his biceps and triceps. It has four cloud-covered paws with three keen dark pink claws on each. Its tail hasn't altered much; however, it may be a little smaller and shorter than previously. While its hair remains the same, its mustache has grown to resemble a fanged mouth, snaking around its head to behind its ears, which have shrunk and become rounder. Its eyes are still yellow, but they have bigger irises and no apparent pupils. Its chest stays wide while a beige diamond adorns its navel.

Behavior:

Landorus is known as the "Guardian of the Fields" because he aids in the growth of crops. Its tail provides nutrients to the earth. The tail's energy is generated by mixing lightning and wind. Landorus appears to reside in the sky. It occasionally comes to a halt at the Abundant Shrine in the Unova area, but only when Tornadus and Thundurus are there. Landorus can also stop and calm the two Forces of Nature whenever they collide or inflict damage, earning him the title "Great Landorus" from the thankful people.

Strengths and Weaknesses

It is the strongest against Ground and Electric types as it takes no damage from either type. It is also strong against Poison, Fighting and Bug-type moves taking only half the normal damage from these moves. It is weak against Water-type moves and takes twice the normal damage against them. It is the weakest against Ice-type moves taking four times the normal damage.

Shiny Landorus:

The shiny Landorus has a lighter hue on his body and horns, with his tail turning a slightly darker shade of brown. Raiding is likely going to be the main way players encounter Shiny Landorus. In terms of encountering his shiny, as always, there is no guarantee. However, with Shiny Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO, he should have a vastly increased shiny rate of around 1/20. Players also have an opportunity of encountering Shiny Landorus within the GO Battle League. Upon reaching level 20, players will be guaranteed an encounter with the Pokemon. While again, it’s not guaranteed to be shiny, it presents another opportunity.

Best Moveset:

Rock ThrowEarth Power
Focus BlastOutrage

Landorus should use Rock Throw as a fast attack and Earth Power as a Charged Attack. This combination offers the highest DPS for players to utilize when battling with the Pokemon. Another Charged Attack that players can consider is Focus Blast, which is a Fighting-type move.

It can hypothetically offer a bit more damage, but it takes far more energy per second to use. A defensive Landorus will use the same moveset as the offensive version, which can be a common occurrence in Pokemon GO. There is also always the option to learn a second Charged Attack, and in that case, Focus Blast or Outrage can be equipped.

How to catch Landorus in Pokémon Go?

Landorus raids are the best bet at catching the Legendary Pokemon, but it may not be the only way that players have to rely on. Pokemon GO Battle League rewards may be another way for players to have a shot at encountering and catching Landorus. At rank 20, players in the Pokemon GO Battle League will unlock the ability to encounter Legendary Pokemon that are currently in the raid rotation.

Trivia:

  1. This Pokémon may create sandstorms, as Tornadus creates whirlwinds and tornadoes, and Thundurus creates thunderstorms.
  2. Landorus shares similarities with Rayquaza in many ways, seeing how they appear to be the masters of their trio, have higher base stats, and how they both stopped their counterparts from harming their home region.
  3. Although Landorus is a Flying-type, it doesn't learn any moves of this type through leveling up.
  4. Even though Landorus is said to have punished the other members of its trio, it does not have a type advantage over them.
