The fur on Togedemaru’s front is white and its exterior is light gray. There are two small ears on top of Togedemaru’s head and it has yellow and black triangles found all over its body. It also has a tail with a yellow tip and is a very small Pokemon at only one foot, or 0.3 meters, tall.

Togedemaru Appearance

Behavior

In the first episode of the Sun and Moon season, Togedemaru was seen as a partner to Sophocles, Ash’s former classmate. Togedemaru was shown to have a soft spot for Ash’s Pikachu and throughout the series, their relationship led to many emotional reunions. Throughout the season, it was always seen next to its trainer’s side and often showed an energetic personality with it often seen bouncing in joy or rolling in happiness.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As a standalone Pokemon, Togedemaru has respectable stats with a good physical attack and speed stat which make for a threatening Pokemon. However, it is fairly weak in terms of defensive stats and combined with a small health pool, it can have a hard time surviving in battle. As a dual type steel and electric type Pokemon, Togedemaru takes 2x damage from fighting and fire type moves but takes 4x damage from ground type moves. However, it is immune to poison type moves and resistant to normal, flying, rock, bug, steel, grass, electric, psychic, ice, dragon, and fairy type moves.

Best Moveset

Togedemaru has not had the biggest impact on competitive play and is often found near the bottom of competitive formats but is often used as a strong utility Pokemon. A Choice Scarf, as a held item, can help ensure that Togedemaru can pull off some chip damage or a disabling effect before your opponents get a chance to move. Consider running U-Turn, Zing Zap, Iron Head, and Nuzzle/Toxic. U-Turn can give you an efficient switch out, Zing Zap can flinch your opponents while also benefiting from STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus), Iron Head also benefits from STAB and can be utilized as a damage option, and finally Nuzzle and Toxic are interchangeable as status inflicting options.

How to Catch Togedemaru in Pokemon Go

Currently, Togedemaru is not available as an obtainable Pokemon in Pokemon Go. The developers of the game have recently released generation six Pokemon, so it is logical to assume that the generation seven Pokemon are not too far behind. Once Togedemaru is released, you can expect to find it near universities, industrial parks, residential areas, and other commercial areas. It is also likely that Togedemaru will be featured as an event Pokemon when the generation seven Pokemon are released. Until then, you will just need to wait for Niantic to release these Pokemon.
