Matthew Beniers, better known as Matty Beniers, is an American professional ice hockey center playing for the Seattle Kraken in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on November 5, 2002, he was selected as the second overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Kraken, also marking their inaugural selection in an entry draft. Before debuting in the NHL, Beniers played college hockey at University of Michigan.

Beniers was regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, earning him the distinction of being selected by the Kraken. Matty signed a three-year entry-level contract with them on April 10, 2022 and made his professional debut two days later against the Calgary Flames, recording an assist in the process. He soon made his impact in the league, finishing the season with three goals and six assists.
