Henley's storyline revolved around a country girl who worked at her family's pub to pay for her wrestling training and befriended two other blue-collar/country characters, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen.
As part of her businesswoman persona, Kiana James was trying to buy the Henley family pub and convert the property into condos. This is why Henley started a battle with her. Eventually, James and Henley grew to be grudgingly respectful of one another and formed a cohesive team.
On NXT Vengeance Day, Henley and Kiana James defeated Katana Chance and Kayden Carter to win the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship for the first time ever. But on April 1 at Stand & Deliver, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn stole their tag titles.
On the NXT episode airing May 16, 2023, Cora Jade most recently defeated Henley in the first round of the NXT Women's Title Tournament.
