Perhaps, the biggest name in the wrestling industry, Hulk Hogan is a legend. Throughout the 80s, 90s and even the early 2000s, Hulkamania was running wild and sweeping the world. All the way from WrestleMania I to WrestleMania IX, Hulk Hogan dominated the main event scene. Hence, when you come across Hulk Hogan’s net worth, it won’t surprise you.

Though not as talented and blessed with in-ring acumen as some of his counterparts such as Randy Savage or Bret Hart, Hogan was a showman. He would sell out arenas the world over and put on memorable moments inside the squared circle.

Who can forget that iconic moment at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan at WrestleMania III when the ‘unstoppable force met the immovable object’ as Hogan and Andre the Giant stared at each other?

Born on August 11, 1953 as Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan was introduced to Vince by another legend, Terry Funk. Hogan earned his fame and the bulk of his money through his professional wrestling career. Hogan’s first appearance at the Madison Square Garden was against Ted Dibiase.

He was paired with ‘Classy’ Freddie Blassie during his initial run with the company. Hogan then proceeded to work in Japan and the Verne Gagne owned AWA before returning to the Vince McMahon-owned company to run wild with Hulkamania.

Year after year, Hulk put on WrestleMania main event matches with the likes of Rowdy Roddy Piper, Paul Orndoff, Bundy, Andre, Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, Sgt. Slaughter, Sid Justice and even Yokozuna.

Hogan then used his fame to transition into Hollywood to launch an acting career. He appeared in Rocky III as Thunderlips and the TV series Thunder in Paradise, among other appearances. He was the most requested celebrity for Make A Wish Foundation during that time.

Hulk Hogan capped off a perfect career when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by none other than Hollywood giant and close friend Sylvester Stallone.

The first dent in Hulk Hogan's Net Worth came when his first wife Linda Claridge filed for divorce in 2007. He was worth about $30 to $40 million at that time. However, he had to pay her 70 percent of the couple’s assets during the divorce, which added up to about $30 million in cash, property, and cars. He later admitted that the divorce was very hard on him both emotionally and financially and brought him to the brink of bankruptcy.

Linda Hogan’s current net worth is estimated to be $20 million!

Hulk Hogan and Linda Hogan have two children together. The first, a daughter named Brooke Hogan and the second a son named Nick Hogan. Hulk Hogan’s family was the centerpiece of a TV Show named Hogan knows best and it featured his wife and two children.

Hulk Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, went on to become a famous American reality television star, actress, singer and media personality. Brooke was involved in WWE as a part of a small storyline involving her father Hulk Hogan and Randy Orton. Later, she signed for TNA wrestling where her father worked. She was an onscreen authority figure in the show.

Hogan managed his finances well over the next couple of years. He signed with the WWE in February 2014 for a legends deal that paid him handsomely. He also recovered financially by hosting WrestleMania XXX.

Hulk Hogan’s Gawker lawsuit

However, it all came crashing down again when he was released from the company in 2015 following some racial slurs that were overheard on a sex tape that was at the centre of Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker.

The story behind the tape is given below:

In April 2012, a sex tape involving Hulk Hogan and Heather Clem, the estranged wife of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge was leaked. Months later, in October 2012, Gawker made public a short clip of the leaked video. Hulk Hogan filed a case against Heather and Bubba for invading his privacy and a settlement with Bubba was later announced. In addition, Heather publically apologized to him.

After the lawsuit against Gawker, Hogan was awarded $115 million total in compensatory damages which included a total of $60 million for emotional distress and $55 million for economic injuries. He has also just won a little over $25 million in punitive damages, including $15 million from Gawker, $10 million from Nick Denton (Gawker’s founder) and $100,000 from journalist AJ Daulerio, CNN reported.

Gawker is set to appeal against the decision. However, if the verdict is upheld, Hulk Hogan's Net Worth will only go up.
