Everyone is excited for the 2023-24 NBA season, including Paul George and the LA Clippers, who are possible contenders this season. George is also eager to play against some of the best players in the league after working on his game over the summer, including Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama is this year's top draft pick by the San Antonio Spurs. During the preseason games, fans have seen what the French big man is capable of. His length has made him a threat on the defensive end, as he stands at 7-foot-3.5.

George shared on his podcast, Podcast P with Paul Geoge, how he'll try to play differently against Wemby.

"I take back everything I said." George said about Wembanyama. "And I knew he was gonna be successful in the league, but I thought it was gonna be tougher than what he's making it look right now.

The eight-time All-Star talked about how scorers like himself would try their best to alter their shots against the mentioned rookie.

"This goes back to Draymond's point. Worst case, he's gonna be one of the best shot blockers. A lot of times, I put myself in other players' shoes. Like, 'Alright, what would I have done right there?' And a lot of those possessions is, it's like d***, when I get to the paint like, I'm gonna have to look. He's contesting, I might beat my guy, he's gonna get pulled in. I might think he's way on the three-point line but his wingspan, he's still covering me.
"It's gonna be different. You're gonna have people like, thinking about how they gonna get this shot off."

Many other stars have praised Wembanyama, which could motivate him to have a stellar rookie season. Still, he has much to learn in the NBA, which could be an advantage for George and other stars before reaching his full potential.

Paul George's health is key for the Clippers this season

Over the past few seasons, the Clippers have struggled to be a consistent threat in the Western Conference for their injury issues. Having their stars healthy this season will be a significant aspect of how they'll be a top team in their conference.

Many still believe the team has much to offer, making them a dark horse contender as they start the season.
