Shaheen Shah Afridi was born in Landi Kotal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, on April 6, 2000. The 6’6” youngster bowls left-arm fast and bats left-handed. Afridi leads the Pakistan national cricket team in T20Is and the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In his first-class debut match, he recorded the best bowling figures by a Pakistan bowler (8 for 39 in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy). He is the first player from Pakistan to win the Garfield Sobers trophy and also the youngest cricketer to take five wickets in a World Cup match.
