The former freestyle and folkstyle wrestler turned mixed martial artist, Bo Nickal, has been considered one of the bullish prospects in the middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Contemplated as one of the top wrestlers (with three NCAA Division I wrestling titles) to ever compete in the sport, Bo Nickal is undefeated in professional MMA. Starting his mixed martial arts career in 2022, the 28-year-old currently boasts a record of 6 wins and no losses. The majority of his wins are via submission(4) and knockout(2). Hence, it is evident that the wrestler turned mixed martial artist is fond of not just ground game but also standing.

For his previous outing, Bo Nickal faced Valentine Woodburn at UFC 290. And within 38 seconds into the first round, Nickal TKO’d Woodburn via his punches. The fight took place on July 8, 2023, in Las Vegas, United States as a main card opener matchup leading up to the main event between the former UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez. This first-round knockout not only made him the fan favourite but also has helped create a certain level of hype for his upcoming match-up. Even though Nickal has his roots spread down to freestyle and folk wrestling, he started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to face the legendary Gordon Ryan in a Third Coast Grappling 3 matchup.

Moreover, as per reports, Bo Nickal went out to train jiu-jitsu in order to mess up with his time before the matchup. And later got into the sport and started liking it.

Yes, Bo Nickal won his UFC debut against Jamie Pickett via an arm triangle choke submission at 2:54 in the first round at UFC 285. It was his fourth professional outing and he still remains undefeated. Moreover, the bout took place in Las Vegas, United States on March 4, 2023, and he also won a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his showcase inside the octagon.
