Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk is a boxer from Ukraine. He mainly competes in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He has held many titles over the years, including the Unified Heavyweight championships, The Ring Magazine title, and the IBO title. He was also the undisputed cruiserweight champion from 2018 to 2019.

Born in Simferopol, Crimean Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, on January 17, 1987, Oleksandr Usyk initially played football before choosing boxing as a profession. He has been regarded as one of the best Ukrainian boxers of all time. He has represented Ukraine in many international competitions. This includes the 2008 Strandzha Cup in Plovdiv, Bulgaria,, where he won a gold medal in the light-heavyweight division. Next, he participated in the 2008 Boxing World Cup in Moscow, Russia in the heavyweight division and won a silver medal. He participated in the 2006 European Amateur Boxing Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in the middleweight division and won a bronze medal and the 2008 European Amateur Boxing Championship in Liverpool, England in the light-heavyweight division and won a gold medal. Oleksandr Usyk also participated in the 2009 World Championships in Milan, Italy, in the heavyweight division and won a bronze medal. During the 2011 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, he competed in the heavyweight division and won a gold medal. Finally, he also competed in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, in the heavyweight division and won a gold medal.
