Kansas City Chiefs' cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was born on January 21, 1997. He was drafted in the fourth round (138th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Sneed made his professional debut against the Houston Texans in Week 1 and recorded his first career interception in a 34-20 win. Sneed won his first Super Bowl in 2022 when the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35, Sneed finished with seven tackles and two passes in Super Bowl LVII.

Sneed switched to cornerback at Louisiana Tech and saw action in his true freshman season, including an interception return score against Western Kentucky in the Conference USA Championship Game. Sneed attended Minden High School in Louisiana. He agreed to stay at home and play collegiate football for Louisiana Tech.

Sneed is a defender with good length and size. Rather than being a safety, he is far more likely to be regarded as a cornerback. Although Sneed lacks the smooth transitions teams desire in man coverage and is a little bit tight in space, his strong ball skills and respectable instincts will draw teams searching for size at the corner position. Although he lacks physical tackle ability, he might be suitable for a zone-heavy scheme where he is compelled to perform more run-support tasks.

L’Jarius Sneed Salary

L’Jarius Sneed will receive a base salary of $19.8 million, with a cap hit of $19,802,000 according to his one-year contract signed in 2024. In February, the Chiefs advised Sneed that if the two sides were unable to strike a long-term agreement, the team would apply the franchise tag on him.
