Introduction

Cutiefly is a dual type Bug Fairy Pokemon that was introduced in Generation VII. It evolves into Ribombee at level 25 and is known as the Bee Fly Pokemon. It can spawn as a male or female, with a 50% chance of being either. Furthermore since it is only four inches tall and weighs 0.4 pounds, Cutiefly is one of the smallest Pokemon in existence.

Pokedex EntryNectar and pollen are its favorite fare. You can find Cutiefly hovering around Gossifleur, trying to get some of Gossifleur’s pollen. An opponent’s aura can tell Cutiefly what that opponent’s next move will be. Then Cutiefly can glide around the attack and strike back.

Appearance

Cutiefly is a very small, bee-like Pokemon with large wings as compared to the size of its body. Its body is pale yellow and its face and tail are white while it also has large eyes. It has two small transparent tufts on its head that closely resemble antennae with four spindly legs that have rounded feet.

Behavior

Cutiefly has the capability to sense the aura of living things and can use this ability to predict the movements of its opponents. It collects nectar and pollen from flowers, which is why it is often hovering around Gossifluer. Cutiefly tends to gather around beings with strong emotions because their auras are bigger and more attractive. Cutiefly typically lives in fields and forests.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As a Bug and Fairy type Pokémon, Cutiefly is weak against Flying, Poison, Rock, Steel and Fire type moves and will take twice the normal damage from them. It is immune to Dragon type Pokemon and is resistant to Fighting, Ground, Bug, Grass and Dark types, which will do half the damage. There is no advantage or disadvantage with Normal, Fairy, Ghost, Water, Electric, Ice and Psychic types.

Best moveset (Cutiefly)

Cutiefly has a lot of strong moves including Last Resort, which is a move that has 140 power and 100% accuracy. Here are Cutiefly’s best moves; Last Resort fails unless all other known moves have been used while Leech Life has 80 power and will restore half of the HP taken to the user. Moonblast has a 30% chance to lower the target’s Special Attack by 1 and finally, Psychic has a 10% chance to lower the target’s Special Defense by 1.

How to catch Cutiefly in Pokemon Go?

Cutiefly is currently not in Pokemon Go as curiously, Niantic has (at least temporarily) skipped over Generation VII. All Generations up through VI have been added and more recently, Generation VIII and the Galarian forms have been added as well. Alolan forms of some Pokemon have made it, but none that first appeared in Alola. They will likely eventually make it, but haven’t yet.

Trivia

  1. No other Pokemon has the same type combination as Cutiefly and Ribombee: Bug and Fairy.

  3. Cutiefly is the only unevolved Pokemon that can learn the move Quiver Dance.
  4. Cutiefly is the only Fairy type Pokemon to have an insect-like body.
  5. Cutiefly is the lightest Bug type Pokemon.
  6. Cutiefly is one of the shortest Pokemon in existence.

FAQs

  1. How big is Cutiefly?
  2. Cutiefly is one of the smallest Pokemon in existence. It stands just four inches tall and weighs .4 pounds. Even fully evolved, Ribombee stands just eight inches tall and weighs just over one pound. Neither form has many Pokemon that are smaller than it.
  3. Is Cutiefly in Pokemon Sword and Shield?
  4. Yes. Cutiefly can be found in Bridge Field with a 30% chance to spawn in Normal Weather. It will then evolve into Ribombee at level 25.
  5. Is there a shiny Cutiefly?
  6. Yes, but not in Pokemon Go. Many Pokemon get a shiny version from Pokemon Go, but since Cutiefly isn’t in that game, it can’t. However, it does have a shiny version that gives it a pinkish shade rather than the typical yellow.

Conclusion

Cutiefly is one of the best Pokemon to have for a couple of reasons. It, and Ribombee once it is evolved, is a very fast Pokemon, so it will often go first in battles. It has access to some really good moves like Leech Life that can be very useful when going first. Additionally, the type combination, Bug and Fairy, is totally unique, making it a really good addition to the team.
