Appearance

Furfrou in the wild are pretty rough Pokemon with long fur based on a poodle. It has white fur all over its body except for its feet and face. The face and feet are brown in colour while its iris is red in colour with grey eyelids. This Pokemon only lets people who trust it cut its fur and the games let you trim it in 10 different ways in different colours.

Behavior

Furfrou is a royal and extremely picky Pokemon. It is incredibly dignified and used to be the guardians of Kings in earlier times. It does not let anyone touch its fur unless they trust them and that trust is hard to earn. Without cutting its fur, it will keep growing and upon grooming this Pokemon, its elegance and its agility increases. Trimming is such an important part of this Pokemon that in earlier times nobles used to compete to see who would best trim their Furfrou.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Furfrou is a pure Normal type and thus it is immune to ghost type moves. However, it is weak against fighting type moves and takes double the normal damage from them. It has no resistances and is damaged normally by Normal, Poison, Rock, Bug, Fire, Water, Grass, Psychic, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy-type moves.

Best moveset

Furfrou is not a Pokemon that is designed to be used in battles, but rather be used for grooming and trimming. With access to ‘fur coat’, this Pokemon can be pretty tanky but still outclassed by other Pokemon that can take its place. Return has high base power at maximum friendship and paired with STAB, this Pokemon can deal quite a bit damage.

U-Turn can be used if the opponent sends out a Pokemon that knows fighting type moves to switch out its coverage. Toxic is always a good addition as it can be quite devastating if the enemy does not have any moves or berries that cure this effect. Finally, Sucker Punch is a good offensive move that helps you get one last punch in before the opponent takes you out.

Conclusion

Furfrou are very picky Pokemon which are prideful of their fur. They have smooth fur which is optimal for grooming, which increases its style as well as agility. However, it does not let everyone cut it because of how prideful it is of its fur. This Pokemon is a fashion Pokemon and because of the same, it is not very viable competitively. It does not have any special moves that make it viable, just different forms with the same base stats. While it does have a good defense, other Pokemon are just better at battling.
