Appearance

Latios Appearance

Latios is a Pokemon who closely resembles a plane with his angular design and looks. In terms of color palette he is mostly two toned, blue and white across his body except for a red triangle on his chest and brown eyes. Latios has two arms but no feet, moving around by simply floating, negating the use for legs. He has a long neck and short body.

Behavior

Latios are curious Pokemon at heart and are extremely intelligent themselves. Able to understand human speech, they also have the ability to refract light which makes them look like anything, even another human. Latios are known to be able to fly faster than jets, and choose to introduce themselves to only trainers who have compassionate hearts.

Strengths and Weaknesses

With overall great stats, Latios more than deserves his title as a Legendary Pokemon. Having a dual typing of Dragon and Psychic, Latios excels in battles against Fighting, Poison and other Dragon types. However, attacks from Bug, Dark, Ghost, Dragon, Fairy and Ice types can quickly whittle his health down even with excellent defense stats.

Mega Latios

Mega Latios

One the few Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, Latios can, with the help of a Mega Stone, evolve into Mega Latios temporarily. In this form, Mega Latios’ already impressive stats are all boosted, except for Speed and HP. It means that Mega Latios can hit harder and endure more until the end of the battle or they are knocked out.

Shiny Latios

Shiny Latios

With Latios being a Legendary Pokemon, the odds of getting a Shiny Latios are even harder. The only difference between Shiny Latios is that the blue is replaced by green and the triangle and his eyes are both orange. To get a Shiny Latios on your own, you’ll have to find one in the wild or hatch one from an egg. If that is not possible, then you’ll need to find someone willing to trade one.

Best moveset for Latios

Calm MindRoost
Stored PowerIce Beam

This moveset emphasizes buffing Latios to become an unstoppable force that’s hard to take down. Each cast of Calm Mind raises Latios’ Special Attack and Defence by one, at the cost of not attacking the enemy Pokemon, Roost heals 50% of Latios’ health and takes away his Flying typing until the end of the turn, useful if facing an opponent that has an advantage over Flying types. Stored Power gives 20 power to stat boosts which pairs perfectly with Calm Mind. Finally, Ice Beam is a hard hitting attack that has the chance to freeze opponents.

How to catch Latios in Pokemon Go?

As of the moment the only way to catch Latios in Pokemon go is to wait and see if a nearby raid features this Pokemon. In case it does, bring your strongest Pokemon and as much gold Razz Berries as you can because catching Latios is never guaranteed, even if you defeat him in the raid.

Trivia

  1. Latios are highly intelligent, able to understand human language
