As a mythical legendary Pokemon, Meloetta is not known to evolve from or into any other Pokemon. Appearance

Meloetta has two different appearances depending on which form she is in, Aria or Pirouette form. The Aria form has long green hair with blue eyes and a green accent. The treble clef ornament is also posed as an earphone in this form. In the Pirouette form, the accent colors are orange with its hair bundled up and the earpiece, around Meloetta’s head, is changed to a pin to keep the hair up. The dress also changes between forms with a longer flowing dress in the Aria form and a frilled petal-like dress in Pirouette form.

Meloetta Appearance

Behavior

Despite being modeled after a performer, Meloetta is quite shy in its personality. Like most legendary Pokemon, it has a slight distrust in humans and only appears to help those in need but will quickly warm up to friendly trainers. In its Aria form, Meloetta is quite timid but things change in its Pirouette form as it becomes quite capable in battle. The Pokedex states that Meloetta’s songs can control happy and sad emotions in people and Pokemon.

Strengths and Weaknesses

As a legendary Pokemon, Meloetta has higher base stat totals than most other non-legendary Pokemon. Both the Pirouette form and Aria form have similar base stat totals, but Aria has a stronger special attack and defense while Pirouette has a higher speed and physical attack. In Aria form, Meloetta is weak to bug and dark type moves. In Pirouette form, Meloetta is weak to fighting, flying, psychic, and fairy types moves.

Shiny Meloetta

A Shiny Meloetta is quite desirable as there are two different shiny variations for its two forms. Shiny Meloetta in Aria Form has bluer hair and the color of the gem on its forehead and its eyes turn green. Shiny Meloetta in Pirouette form has pink hair, a pink gem, and brighter red eyes. It is quite easy to distinguish between regular Meloetta and Shiny Meloetta, despite its black color palette remaining the same. Like all shiny Pokemon, Shiny Meloetta gains a starry animation upon entering battle.

Best Moveset

Throughout competitive Pokemon battling, Meloetta has not made a big impact. While its base stat totals are fine, it is difficult to pull off a legendary Pokemon without access to their signature move. Most competitive teams will opt for the Aria form of Meloetta which makes Relic Song even more difficult to pull off. Many compositions with Meloetta utilize it as a bulky, special attacker. So consider running Substitute, Calm Mind, Psyshock, and Focus Blast. Substitute can make good use of Aria form’s bulkiness, Calm Mind can help set up a sweep, Psyshock functions as its primary source of damage and Focus Blast is for type coverage.

How to Catch Meloetta in Pokemon Go

If you want to obtain a Meloetta in Pokemon Go, it can be rather difficult. Typical of its mythical legendary status, it is only available through events. Currently the Go Fest of 2021 offers Meloetta for players who purchased a ticket for the event and thus completing the quest, research tasks and other requirements will give you an opportunity to catch Meloetta. It is likely that Meloetta will be released to all players through a special research quest but until then, you will just need to wait for Niantic to release Meloetta through events again.
