NaLyssa Smith is a basketball player who plays for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA. She was born on August 8, 2000, in San Antonio, Texas, U.S. Smith started basketball at East Central High School where she averaged 23.4 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game. For excellent success in senior season, she was rated a five-star recruit and the no. 3 recruit by ESPN. Smith committed to The Baylor Bears women's basketball team for college basketball. Her notable achievement during college was becoming a 2-time Big 12 Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022, and also 3-time First-team All-Big 12 from 2020 to 2022. She also won the most prestigious award in college basketball, the NCAA championship in 2019.

In 2022 Smith was selected 2nd overall by the Indiana Fever in the WNBA draft. In Smith's professional career, she made it to the WNBA All-Rookie Team. Currently, she plays for Fever alongside star rookie Caitlin Clark and helps her to make space for shots. In the 2024 season, Smith is averaging 11.0 points, 1.1 assists and 7.6 rebounds per game as of August 2024.
