Kahleah Copper was born on August 28, 1994, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. She is an American professional basketball player and a shooting guard/small forward for the Phoenix Mercury. She was the seventh pick by the Washington Mystics in the 2016 WNBA Draft. She played for the Chicago Sky from 2017 to 2023, and on February 6, 2024, she was traded to the Phoenix Mercury. Kahleah Copper and her team, the Chicago Sky, were the 2021 WNBA Champions, and she was the Finals MVP. Copper also played overseas in the Spanish League and the EuroLeague. She received the 2022 EuroLeague Regular Season MVP. At the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Australia, she represented the United States and took home the gold medal. Copper played for the USA Women's Basketball Team in the 2024 Paris Olympics Game and won a gold medal.
In the 2024 Olympics tournament, Copper averaged 8.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 14.6 minutes per game. In the final win over France (67–66), Copper scored 12 points, including 10 in a pivotal fourth quarter, with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. For the 2022 USA Women’s National Team, she averaged 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, shooting 55.5% from the field and 41.7% from three-point range. Despite missing two games due to a hip injury, she contributed to the USA's unbeaten 8-0 record and World Cup victory.
