Red Sox, Braves place starting pitchers on DL
The Atlanta Braves placed starting pitcher Julio Teheran on the 10-day disabled list, while the Boston Red Sox are set to be without Drew Pomeranz.
Teheran will spend time some time on the sidelines after he was forced to leave Monday's 11-4 MLB loss to the San Diego Padres with a thumb injury having pitched just four innings.
The two-time All-Star never looked comfortable, allowing four runs and failing to reach 90 mph with his fastball. He has an ERA of 4.34 over 13 starts, but had improved lately after a rough start.
Luke Jackson will replace Teheran for the Braves.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox also lost a pitcher Tuesday as Pomeranz returned to the 10-day DL with left biceps tendinitis.

The 2016 All-Star has rarely been healthy since joining Boston in 2016.
Pomeranz heads to the shelf with a 1-3 record, 6.81 ERA and 21 walks in 37 innings this season.
