The new NBA 2K23 update was released on Wednesday, October 19. It has brought many improvements to the game as Visual Concepts has fixed a lot of bugs in the popular video game.

The video game developers are preparing for Season 2 of NBA 2K23. It's coming out on Friday, October 21. The new season will bring a lot of new content to the game and many gamers are excited about it.

With the October 19 NBA 2K23 update, Visual Concepts has also added the Bill Russell "6" logo for courts and the jersey patch. Gamers will, once again, be able to quickly toggle between players on the Edit Player menu. Furthermore, the random disconnection problem in Quick Play has been resolved as well.

With the latest NBA 2K23 update, Visual Concepts has fixed numerous gameplay bugs. Additionally, the Dream Shake badge will now lessen the penalty when chaining multiple fakes together.

The development team has fixed the issue that would cause standing layups to fade away from the rim, instead of toward it. The issue that caused players to lose control while defensive shading has also been resolved.

When it comes to animations, the latest NBA 2K23 update has fixed certain post animations that were not working as intended. Michael Jordan's animations have also been updated, and there are now new facial expressions for several animations.

The NBA 2K23 developer has also fixed the airball issue that would bother players. Furthermore, made shots will now have different interactions with the rim and will not always swish.

Here are a few other gameplay changes that have been released with the new NBA 2K23 update:

  • Shot fakes that could force the player to go out of bounds unintentionally will no longer do so
  • CPU players no longer use layup timing, as they were unrealistically proficient with it
  • The free-throw difficulty slider will now function correctly
  • Fixed some problems with controllable rim hangs that were causing players to vault into the air unexpectedly
  • Resolved a rare hang that could occur during certain inbounds plays

City, Pro-Am, Rec and Theater changes

2K gamers who play the City will now have a better overall experience as Visual Concepts has improved the performance and stability of this part of the video game.

Court status is now available when standing in the Got Next spot and the delay in exiting the court after a win has been reduced. The only remaining player in head-to-head games will be rewarded with a win from now on.

Visual Concepts has also improved private matchmaking and squads with the new NBA 2K23 update. Weekly quests will no longer expire early and gamers will be able to properly remove individual tattoos from their players.

Here are a few more things that the latest update has brought:

  • Addressed various issues with the stat overlays in Pro-Am games to improve their accuracy
  • Fixed a rare issue that could cause players to be invisible when entering Ante-Up
  • Resolved an issue with adrenaline boosts occasionally displaying the incorrect number remaining
  • Resolved an issue that was causing the shot meter to be invisible when shooting in Brickley’s Gym

MyCareer has been one of the most popular game modes in the NBA 2K series for more than a decade. The game mode has received some significant changes with the latest NBA 2K23 update.

The core progression speed has slightly increased and badge progression will now work properly in the City. The new update fixed the issue that caused equipped animations to reset to default and an issue that prevented Tier 3 badges from being cored.

Visual Concepts has released numerous other MyCareer bug fixes with the latest NBA 2K23 update. Here are the most important ones:

  • Resolved a rare issue that could cause saves to be blocked on load due to not being able to enter the arena
  • Resolved an issue that could cause season-specific Stat Quests to progress incorrectly
  • The rewards for the Chris Brickley quests are now correctly displayed
  • Quests requiring personal brand increases in non-NBA games will now be accurately tracked

Thanks to the new NBA 2K23 update, games now have the option to turn off era filters in single-player games. Visual Concepts has also added an anti-competitive check for idle players.

High-level coach cards will now have appropriate boost amounts. Gamers will no longer receive a loss after their opponent quits the game. The game developer has also added a Trophy Case category to the Exchange.

When it comes to Dynamic Duos, they will now consistently report boosted overall ratings. Information regarding the duos has been added to the general page of MyTeam cards.

Here are a few other MyTeam changes that have come with the latest update:

  • Duplicate player cards will no longer be able to be used in the same Exhibition Mission
  • Free Agent cards will now warn the player if their final game will be played in Triple Threat modes
  • Prevented an error that could occur when players have more than 101 wins in Clutch Time modes
  • Replacing badges on a Player Card from the Edit Player menu will now work correctly
