Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who started playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022, have flattered to deceive in their short history in the IPL. The team, owned by Sanjiv Goenka, finished in a top-four spot in back-to-back seasons in 2022 and 2023. However, the wheels came off in 2024 as the Lucknow-based franchise finished in the seventh spot in the IPL table.
However, LSG are aiming to start from scratch with several reinforcements to their squad under new captain Rishabh Pant in the IPL 2025. They are hoping to deliver the goods by clinching their maiden IPL title in 2025.

LSG started their IPL 2025 campaign with an evening fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Visakhapatnam on March 24. As of May 14, 2025, LSG have played a total of 11 games in the IPL 2025 and won five. They lost six games out of 11 before the IPL was suspended due to cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. But, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the revised schedule of the remainder of the IPL 2025 matches.
