The RCB Squad 2024 looks quite strong on paper, especially the team’s batting. The Bangalore-based franchise had retained big names like Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar in their batting lineup. Bangalore also traded Cameron Green, adding another big name to the RCB Players List for IPL 2024.

The first addition to the RCB Squad 2024 at the IPL Auction was Alzarri Joseph. He is a fast bowler from the West Indies, who has played for the Gujarat Titans in the past. Royal Challengers Bangalore splurged INR 11.5 crore for his services at the auction.

IPL 2024 Auction Rules

The BCCI and IPL Governing Council prepared a set of rules for the IPL 2024 Auction. Here is the list of rules for the IPL 2024 Mini Auction:

1. Each team must spend 75% of their auction purse.

2. The maximum squad size is 25. The minimum is 18. Teams can sign a maximum of 8 overseas players at the auction, while the upper limit on the number of Indian players in an IPL team is 25.

3. There are no right to match (RTM) cards available for the IPL 2024 Auction.

4. Trading window will be open after the auction ends.

IPL 2024 Auction RCB’s Purse Value

RCB entered the auction with a purse value of 23.75 crore. They spent 11.5 crore on Alzarri Joseph, which was almost 50% of their purse value for the auction. RCB surprisingly also bid 20.25 crore for Pat Cummins but failed to sign him.
