The flyweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Alexandre Pantoja Passidomo, was born in Brazil on April 16, 1990. On December 19, 2020, at UFC Fight Night 183, Pantoja was scheduled to compete against promotional newcomer and former Rizin FF Bantamweight champion Manel Kape. Pantoja, however, withdrew from the contest in the first few days of December for unknown reasons. The final fight took place at UFC Fight Night 184 on February 6, 2021. Pantoja prevailed by a unanimous decision.

On August 21, 2021, Pantoja faced Brandon Royval at the UFC on ESPN 29. By rear-naked choke in the second round, he prevailed. Pantoja received the Performance of the Night honor for this triumph.

At UFC 277 on July 30, 2022, Pantoja faced Alex Perez. He won the fight with a neck crank submission in the first round. Pantoja received his third Performance of the Night award as a result of the victory. On July 8, 2023, at UFC 290, Pantoja beat Brandon Moreno and became the new UFC Flyweight Champion. He defended his title against Brandon Royval at UFC 296 on December 16, 2023, and against Steve Erceg at UFC 301 on May 4, 2024.
