The UFC flyweight champion and former Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Shooto Brazil flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja Passidomo, is a Brazilian mixed martial artist.
Manel Kape, a promotional newcomer and the former Rizin FF Bantamweight champion, was scheduled to face Pantoja at UFC Fight Night 183 on December 19, 2020. Pantoja, however, withdrew from the contest in the first few days of December for unknown reasons. The final fight took place at UFC Fight Night 184 on February 6, 2021. Pantoja prevailed by unanimous decision in the match.
On August 21, 2021, at UFC on ESPN 29, Pantoja faced Brandon Royval. In round two, he used a rear-naked choke to finish the fight. Pantoja was scheduled to compete for the UFC flyweight championship, but a knee injury made him withdraw.
At UFC 277 on July 30, 2022, Pantoja faced Alex Perez. He won the fight early in the first round with a neck crank submission. Pantoja received his third Performance of the Night award as a result of the victory. On July 8, 2023, at UFC 290, Pantoja beat Brandon Moreno and became the new UFC Flyweight Champion. He then defended his title against Brandon Royval at UFC 296 on December 16, 2023. At UFC 301, Pantoja defended his belt via a unanimous decision against Steve Erceg on May 4, 2024.
