Brazilian current UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja Passidomo was born on April 16, 1990. He is currently ranked #10 in the men's pound-for-pound rankings of the UFC. He defended his title against Steve Erceg on May 4, 2024, at UFC 301.


On January 28, 2017, Alexandre made his promotional debut against Eric Shelton at the UFC on Fox 23 and won a split decision. On July 16, 2017, Pantoja participated in UFC Fight Night 113 against Neil Seery. In the third round, he submitted to win the fight. On January 20, 2018, Pantoja and Dustin Ortiz squared off at UFC 220, though he was defeated via a unanimous decision.


On August 21, 2021, Pantoja took on Brandon Royval at the UFC on ESPN 29. By rear-naked choke in the second round, he prevailed; for this, Pantoja got the Performance of the Night award. After suffering a knee injury, Pantoja was forced to withdraw from the fight for the UFC flyweight title.


On July 30, 2022, Pantoja competed against Alex Perez at UFC 277. Early in the first round, he submitted Perez with a neck crank to win. Pantoja won his third Performance of the Night honor as well. For the UFC Flyweight Championship, Pantoja and Brandon Moreno had a rematch on July 8, 2023, at UFC 290. Pantoja prevailed through a split decision, taking home both the title and the Fight of the Night award, which was his most recent bout. He later defended his title against Brandon Moreno and against Steve Erceg at UFC 301.
