Throughout her career, Grasso has shown grit by overcoming losses to high-profile competitors like Felice Herrig and Carla Esparza.

The breaking point in her career finally came in March 2023, when Grasso defeated the long-reigning champion, Valentina Shevchenko, via fourth-round submission to capture the UFC Women's Flyweight Championship at UFC 285. In September 2023, she retained her title in against Shevchenko via a majority draw. Alexa Grasso Custom Belt

Alexa Grasso's championship belt looks a little different because she was given a specially designed belt ahead of her title defense at "Noche UFC," which was held in honor of Mexican Independence Day on September 2023. Dubbed the "Tribe Belt #1," this special belt was created by Taller Jacobo y Maria Angele, a workshop that incorporates elements from Mexican pre-Hispanic cultures, especially from Mixtec and Zapotec cultures. The belt is full of symbolism, with implications of courage, discipline, and life's duality. It also symbolizes victory and calamity through its exquisite design and color scheme.

This custom belt now means a very special moment, as it marks the first time in UFC history that any champion has received a country-themed belt. According to UFC President Dana White, the fact that Grasso will be able to keep this commemorative belt, independent of event results, is definitely something very special.
