Emma Navarro is a rising American tennis player who turned professional in 2015. She achieved the career-high ranking of No. 8 on September 9, 2024, by WTA. She reached the semifinal of the 2024 Monterrey Open, losing to Linda Noskova in straight sets. Navarro won her only WTA singles title at the 2024 Hobart International Open, defeating Elise Mertens in the final.

Her best Grand Slam performance was at the 2024 US Open, where she reached the semifinals. She created the biggest upset in the fourth round by defeating defending champion Coco Gauff.

En route to reaching her maiden Wimbledon quarterfinals, Navarro defeated Coco Gauff, Diana Shnaider, and Naomi Osaka. On her debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she advanced to the third round, where she lost to Qinwen Zheng.

Navarro reached her first WTA 1000 semifinals at the 2024 Canadian Open, defeating lucky loser Taylor Townsend in the quarterfinals. She also advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Indian Wells, defeating World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka. She ended the season by receiving the Most Improved Player of the Year award from the WTA.

Emma Navarro is yet to win any Olympic medal. She competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she reached the third round, losing to Qinwen Zheng by 7-6, 6-7, 1-6. She defeated Viktoriya Tomova in the second round by 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. Navarro registered a win against Austrian tennis player Julia Grabher.
