Brayden Yager is a Canadian junior ice hockey player for the Lethbridge Hurricanes, as of February 2025. He is a prospect for the Winnipeg Jets. He was selected 14th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2023 NHL Draft and later traded to the Jets in 2024. On December 2, 2024, Yager was traded to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Yager started his WHL career with the Moose Jaw Warriors, where he set a franchise record with 34 goals as a 16-year-old. He earned multiple awards, including CHL Rookie of the Year and WHL Most Sportsmanlike Player twice. In 2024, he helped Moose Jaw win the WHL Championship and was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team.

Both have a background in federal corrections; Cam worked as a corrections officer, and Maureen was the Assistant Warden of Interventions. They met while attending the University of Saskatchewan and started their family in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, where they raised Brayden and his older brother, Connor.

The Yager family moved from Prince Albert to Saskatoon to access better training opportunities for Brayden Yager. Cam transferred jobs immediately, but Maureen had to stay behind for several years to manage their home and work obligations.

Cam, a former Tier 2 junior hockey player, and goalie, helped Brayden hone his shooting skills, while Maureen supported him by recording videos and encouraging his determination. Both parents recently retired and were present with their family when Brayden was drafted 14th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2023.

Yager played for several teams during his career, including the Saskatoon Maniacs U15 AA, Martensville Marauders U15/U18 AA, Saskatoon Contacts U18 AAA, and briefly for the Melville Millionaires in the SJHL. He also participated in the Macs Tournament in 2019-20, where he recorded one goal and two assists in four games. Connor retired after the 2020-21 season.
