Jack Eichel

Jack Eichel is a professional ice hockey center player and alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights in the National Hockey League. He was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2015 NHL Entry draft as the second overall pick. He became popular even before debuting in the NHL when he was recognized as 'the new face of American hockey' at the age of 17.

Jack played in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Ice Hockey and received a prestigious Hobey Baker Award for the best player. With this honor, he became the second freshman to earn this award. He also won the Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights in 2023, his first appearance in the NHL playoffs.

Jack was chosen by the Sabres on the June 26, 2015 NHL Entry draft and there was excitement around his draft because he was considered a generational talent. Jack signed a three-year contract with the Sabres soon after his selection.

Jack scored his first NHL goal in October 2015 and became the youngest player to do so in the Sabres' history. He performed well for the 2015-2016 season despite his ankle injury. He extended his contract with the Sabres in 2017 and immediately scored his first ever hat-trick in 2017. The following year, he was named captain and reached the 100-goal milestone in 2019.

Soon after his issue with the Sabres over his injury, he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights on November 4, 2021. He underwent surgery and started training with the Knights. Jack returned to the ice after one year in February 2022 and scored his first goal with the Golden Knights on February 20.

In the 2022-2023 season, Jack improved with the new coach in Bruce Cassidy Golden Knights, who focused on defensive play. Jack contributed an amazing score of 26 points in just 26 games of that season and led his team to the Pacific Division. Even though he missed some games, he came out stronger.

Jack finished the regular season with 27 goals and 39 assists in 67 games. With the help of Jack's contribution, the Golden Knights made it to the playoffs and eventually won the Stanley Cup Finals. Jack became the top-scorer in the playoffs, making him the key player of the Golden Knights.
