The Stanley Cup and Grey Cup are two of Canada’s most iconic sports trophies, and only two athletes in history have had their names engraved on both. Gerry James and Lionel Conacher each achieved this rare feat in both professional hockey and Canadian football.

Gerry James played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, appearing in a Stanley Cup Final and Grey Cup game in the same season in 1959. Lionel Conacher was named Canada’s greatest male athlete of the half-century in 1950. He won a Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts in 1921 and later captured two Stanley Cups in 1934 and 1935 with Chicago and Montreal.
