Inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals hold the record for chasing down the highest total in the history of the cash-rich league.

The Royals set the record in the maiden IPL season itself when the Shane Warne-led unit chased down 215 against the now-defunct Deccan Charge.

During the next 12 years, plenty of sides chased down totals more than 200, but none came anywhere close to breaching RR’s achievement in 2008.

That all changed in 2020 when the Rajasthan Royals went a step ahead and gunned down 224 against the Punjab Kings in the most staggering way possible.

The heist was scripted thanks to Rahul Tewatia's gobsmacking assault at the back end of the innings. The southpaw, who struggled to get going in the first half of his innings, turned it around in a sensational manner by smashing 7 sixes to lead RR to an unprecedented heist.

In 2021, Mumbai Indians made a mockery of Super Kings’ total of 218, thanks to a power-packed knock from Kieron Pollard to seal the second-highest run-chase in IPL history.

Rajasthan's chase of 215 against Deccan in 2008 is at the third spot, followed by LSG MI’s 211 in IPL 2022.

The top five is bookended by the Delhi Capitals who chased down 209 against the Gujarat Lions in the 2017 edition following whirlwind knocks from Rishabh Pant (97 off 43) and Sanju Samson (61 off 31).
