Benoît Saint Denis, aka "God of War", a French lightweight fighter for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), was born on December 18, 1995. He lost his promotional debut against Elizeu Zaleki dos Santos in the welterweight division via a unanimous decision in October 2021.

Saint Denis served with the French Army Special Forces Command's 1st Marine Infantry Paratroopers Regiment before entering the mixed martial arts world. He fought terrorist organizations while serving in Mali throughout the conflict and, more broadly, in West Africa. In September 2017, he received the Combatant's Cross and the Medal of the Nation's Gratitude. In the Bayonne region, near his regiment, Saint Denis started Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) with Christophe Savoca and kickboxing with Stéphane Susperregui in the same year.

In the 2019 France National Championship, he also won the GI and NO Gi titles while competing in the blue-belt middleweight class. By March 2019, he had departed the Army after five years of service. Additionally, he took part in two ACB JJ shows, most notably one when he lost by points to Yusup Raisov. He made his professional mixed martial arts debut against Marc Domont on February 16, 2019, at Lions Fighting Championship 8. Saint Denis took off to a winning start as a professional fighter after he defeated Domont by a first-round submission.
