Roman Kopylov transitioned into a full-time professional mixed martial artist on April 1, 2016, against Felipe Nsue at WCSA Combat Ring 18: X-Fight. Kopylov defeated Felipe by a unanimous decision and started his career with a win. He produced clinical performances in his upcoming matches and after compiling eight straight wins, he made his way into the UFC. Kopylov made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) against Karl Roberson at UFC Fight Night: Magomedsharipov vs. Kattar on November 9, 2019.
