UFC 303: Pereira v Prochazka 2

The No.2 ranked light heavyweight contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and the former champion of the same division, Jiri Prochazka is undoubtedly one of the fearsome athletes to ever compete in the sport. From learning martial arts to advocating it to the daily life chores, Prochazka has been inspiring many around the globe for the last couple of years. Even though Prochazka vacated his light heavyweight title due to an injury, he still brings out a championship-level game inside the octagon against his opponents. With more than a decade of expertise in the sport, Prochazka maintains an impeccable record of 30 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw in mixed martial arts so far. Out of the 30 wins, 26 of them are via knockout, 3 via submission, and only 1 decision win in his career so far.

Jiri Prochazka is a former Rizin light heavyweight champion and has defended the title once before moving to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. After signing the UFC contract in 2020, Prochazka faced Volkan Oezdemir for his promotional debut and knocked out Oezdemir in the second round at UFC 251. The fight took place in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Prochazka won a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his showcase. For his second promotional outing, Prochazka went up against the former title challenger, Dominick Reyes, and again won the bout via a second-round knockout. This earned him both ‘Fight of the Night’ and ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses and also a title shot against Glover Teixeira. And finally, at UFC 275, Jiri Prochazka submitted Teixeira and became the new UFC light heavyweight champion. However, he had to vacate the title due to injury before a successful defense. Prochazka then came back and faced Alex Pereira for the vacant light heavyweight title but got TKO’d in the second round at UFC 295. However, Prochazka bounced back from the loss in his last fight against Aleksandar Rakic via a second-round TKO and secured his spot as the No.1 contender in the division. Moreover, Prochazka is set to face the former champion Jamahal Hill at UFC 311 on January 18, 2025, in California, United States.
