Rana was not utilized during his first two seasons, but he had a breakthrough season in IPL 2024, as he dazzled with the ball in the final over of KKR’s opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. With Heinrich Klaasen running away with the game, Rana was given the task of bowling the most crucial last over with 13 runs in hand to defend. He dismissed Shahbaz Ahmed and Klaasen within no time with his variation as the Knight Riders won a thriller by 4 runs and obtained a hero in Rana.

Harshit Rana International Career

With a new-look squad assembled for India’s tour of Zimbabwe in July 2024 after the senior members were rested for sweating it out in the T20 World Cup 2024, Harshit Rana was expected to make a cut for the squad after his tremendous performance with the ball in IPL 2024.

After failing to make it to the initial squad, Rana was later called upon along with batter Sai Sudharsan and wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma after Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube were left stranded in the Caribbean owing to a hurricane.

With a maiden India call-up on his sleeve, Rana would be aiming to debut sooner rather than later and would be living his dream of playing in Indian colors.
