Naomi Osaka is a Japanese professional tennis player. She rose to prominence following her win at the 2018 Indian Wells. A few months after that she won her first Grand Slam title at the US Open, defeating Serena Williams in a final marred by controversies. However, by virtue of defeating one of the best players in the game to win her first Major title, she became an overnight sensation. She won her second Grand Slam title at the 2019 Australian Open, defeating two-time Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova in the final.

She also became the World No. 1 following that victory. She has gone on to win an additional two Grand Slam titles, at the 2020 US Open and the 2021 Australian Open. Subsequently he became a part of the YBN collective, a hip-hop group. He released his first single in 2018, titled “My Name Is,” which was a remix of the similarly titled song released by Eminem in 1999. In 2019, Cordae released his debut album, “The Lost Boy” to critical acclaim. It was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song. In 2020, the YBN collective was disbanded. How did Naomi and Cordae meet?

The two met for the first time at a LA Clippers game. Cordae had no idea who Osaka was when they first interacted. In July 2019, he confirmed his relationship with the tennis star, though the two had been dating for a while by then. He later saw his first tennis match at the 2019 US Open, where he witnessed Osaka in action. The couple made their first public appearance together in December 2019, when they attended another LA Clippers game. Cordae was instrumental in boosting Osaka’s morale during the 2020 US Open, as COVID-19 protocols made things tougher for players back then. The duo have made quite a few public appearances together and post on social media as well, but overall have kept their relationship quite low-profile, compared to other celebrities who’re similarly in the spotlight.

However, the rapper currently isn’t close to matching what the tennis superstar earns.
