Vasek Pospisil is a former Top-30 player on the ATP circuit from Canada. He has a powerful serve and solid ground strokes and has seven doubles titles to his name. Yet, Pospisil is known primarily as a singles specialist - he reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2015, and the Round of 16 at the 2020 US Open. Having turned pro in 2007, Pospisil’s extended run on tour showcases his longevity and dedication. As of late 2024, he has a current ranking of No. 735 and a career-high ranking of No. 25.

Born on 23 June 1990 in Vernon, Canada, Vasek Pospisil started playing tennis at five. He is a former World No. 4 doubles star and even won the 2014 Wimbledon men’s doubles alongside partner Jack Sock. They also won the 2015 Indian Wells Masters together. Having beaten the likes of Andy Murray, Grigor Dimitrov, and Tomas Berdych in the past, there is no doubting Vasek Pospisil’s potential. Milos Pospisil, the father of Canadian tennis player Vasek Pospisil, was his first coach. In 2010, Pospisil brought in Frederic Niemeyer to become his head coach. The former Tennis Canada coach mentored Pospisil for close to two years until late 2012. Between 2012 and 2016, veteran French coach Frederic Fontang signed a deal with the now 34-year-old Canadian.

It was under the guidance of Frederic Fontang that Vasek Pospisil reached his peak in singles and doubles. After all, 2013-2016 were his best years. Following this, Pospisil has had brief stints with Mark Woodforde, Dirk Hordorff, Frank Dancevic, and Flávio Cipolla.
