Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators are a professional NHL team. They are based in Ottawa, Canada, competing in the Eastern Conference. They take their name from Ottawa's role as Canada's capital and a historic hockey team that won 11 Stanley Cups between 1903 and 1927. The Senators' first playoff appearance came in the 1996–97 season, led by Daniel Alfredsson and Alexei Yashin. They secured their first playoff series win in 1998 and captured their first division title in 1999, marking the start of a successful seven-year run with four division titles.

In 2006–07, the Senators, powered by Alfredsson, Dany Heatley, and Jason Spezza, reached their first Stanley Cup finals but lost to the Anaheim Ducks. After some ups and downs, they reached the Eastern Conference finals in 2016–17, led by Erik Karlsson, but fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a dramatic game seven.
