Spencer Carbery is a former ice hockey player and the head coach of the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League (NHL). He retired from playing on August 31, 2010, and became an assistant coach for the South Carolina Stingrays. After one season, Carbery became the head coach and director of hockey operations for the Stingrays at age 29, making him the youngest head coach in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

In 2016, Carbery left to coach the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and then joined the Providence Bruins as an assistant coach. In 2018, he became the head coach of the Hershey Bears, winning both the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy and the coach of the year honor in 2021. Later in 2021, Carbery joined the Toronto Maple Leafs as an assistant coach. On May 30, 2023, he became head coach of the Washington Capitals.
